1. Gym memberships can get expensive, and I just quit going.
2. I had some equipment, and now we just use it as a large clothes hanger
3. I do not have time to head to the gym everyday.
There are many other issues like this as well. Your friend you were going there with stopped going....ect
This is my simple advice for anyone wanting to get back into it, but afraid of commitment. Buy a jump rope. It is good cardio, is a lot of fun, and will not take up much room indoors if you do not use it. Plus you can do it inside if you have the ceiling height. For weight training, do 100 push ups. If that takes longer than 20 minutes, maybe try for 50, and work your way up. Put up some kind of pull-up bar. Do air squats, and walking lunges down the block. None of this needs to take very long, try for 15-20 minutes of hard work. Even 10 minutes is so much better than nothing at all. See if you keep up working out daily, and renew that membership when you are feeling committed again, when you know you will stay with it. I bought my jump ropes at roguefitness.com, and use them often. It is fun, except when the speed rope hits my leg, like a whip! :)
